Maintenance Electro-Mechanical Technician

($30 - $32 per hour)
Responsible for assisting department in the maintenance of equipment and machinery used in the manufacturing of hydrogel and electrodes with electrical and mechanical skills.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Use electrical schematic and mechanical drawings, instructions, and multi-meter tool to repair manufacturing equipment
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronics, and electrical support in troubleshooting PLC driven equipment, control cabinets, motors, sensors, etc.
  • Capable of troubleshooting electrical systems, replacing, and testing relays, contactors, switches, and other electrical components that work on either low voltage and/or high voltage up to 480v
  • Ensure that all safety equipment is in the proper place and working properly
  • Revise documents and specifications if necessary to ensure accuracy
  • Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for manufacturing machines
  • Install AMC manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for repair parts needed to support manufacturing equipment
  • Perform measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, operator safety and quality of product
  • Review engineering project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problems and possible solutions
  • Arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain communication with all departments on daily basis updating them with current equipment, parts, order status
  • Recommend design modifications as required
  • Maintain a maintenance daily log
  • Enter data into computer ERP system
  • Perform OSHA safety requirements and all other duties as assigned including proper Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment when required
Qualification requirements:
  • Must be able to perform each duty outlined above and possess the education, skills, and abilities described in this job description
Education and/or experience:
  • Certificate from college or technical school or associate’s degree (A.A) with five or more years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents (such as mechanical and electrical drawings, scientific and technical journals and/or procedures, and AMC policy and regulation) and ability to respond effectively to inquiries
Reasoning ability:
  • Ability to identify problems and review relevant information to evaluate options and develop solutions and ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Physical requirements:
  • Must be able to walk and stand throughout the day
  • Constant use of hands and good depth perception, hearing, speech, and vision (including ability to distinguish colors)
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to understand departmental needs and ability to create new parts to improve performance of machines
